Meet Our Pastor

Senior Pastor Brian Bond

Wife: Carrie         Children: Taylor, Madison, and Braxton

Brian began serving as Senior Pastor of Greenwood Baptist Church in September of 2002. Prior to coming here, he served for 10 years at the First Baptist Church of /files/Brian/B-cropped.jpgRogers, Arkansas as Associate Pastor of Students. Since recognizing God's call to vocational ministry in 1986, Brian has served in 5 different churches in 3 states.  It was while serving as College/Singles pastor in Ada, Oklahoma that he met Carrie, his bride and partner in ministry for fifteen years. Brian and Carrie have three children, Taylor, 9, Madison, 6, and Braxton, 2 months, all three of whom are adopted. Taylor, who has Down's syndrome, was born in Brian's hometown of Jacksonville, Fla. The story of how he came to their home is an amazing testimony to the faithfulness of God. Madison is a miracle story in her own right and Braxton was the unexpected blessing. Brian says that the circumstances of the arrival of his children are some of the most significant times of their lives in their journey with the Lord. He loves to preach and is committed to communicating the Word of God in a manner that is engaging and easy to understand. He believes that if you hear aFall fun sermon and don't know what to do with it in every day life, it is a failure. Brian has a degree in Theology and is a devoted learner. In his free time, he loves to rope and ride. Carrie is a regional Women's Ministry representative for the Southern Baptists of Texas State Convention and also serves as a National trainer for "Surrendering the Secret", a post-abortive recovery ministry. These ministries are in addition to her primary role as a stay-at-home mom for Madison, Taylor and Braxton.

Favorite Part of Ministry: Being a part of someone meeting Christ and seeing true transformation as they move from worshipper to connection with other Christians to a place of real service.

Favorite Quiet Time Habit: 5 Psalms and 1 Chapter of Proverbs every day

Favorite Verses: The Lord spoke with Moses face to face, just as a man speaks with his friend. Then Moses would return to the camp, but his assistant, the young man Joshua son of Nun, would not leave the inside of the tent. Ex 33:11 (HCSB)

There is a very real, awe-inspiring element in the intimacy of Moses and the Lord and the passion of Joshua for His presence!

Now the goal of our instruction is love from a pure heart, a good conscience, and a sincere faith. 1 Tim 1:5 (HCSB)

A Word About Greenwood - Being Pastor of Greenwood Baptist Church is truly one of the great joys of my life. The people here are a pleasure to serve and fun to be around. You can't be here for very long without realizing just how much the people of Greenwood love Jesus and each other! I love it so much that if someone gave me 10 million dollars today, I would still get up tomorrow morning and come to this church for work. (You are welcome to test me in this if you wish.)
